How Consistent Blogging Increased Reach, Brand Session Bookings, and Revenue for Zoe Evans Photography (Case Study)
Okay, let me tell you about something I’m really proud of. You know Zoe Evans — wedding photographer, creative eye, the kind of person who can make a flower farm look like a European countryside?
She’s been established in weddings for years, (over 10 years to be exact). But this past year, she really wanted to branch into brand photography. Not just “offer it,” but actually become known for it.
And here’s what she realized: If you want to be booked for brand sessions, people have to be able to find you for brand sessions.
Instagram alone wasn’t going to carry that shift. So we built a system around consistent, SEO-focused blogging.
Two blog posts a month. Every month.
Not random posts. Not rushed captions turned into blogs. Strategic, keyword-aligned, searchable content.
She’s been doing my brand photos for 2 years now — I cannot recommend her enough! Check out the blog that we did on my most recent brand session!
TL;DR
Zoe wanted to grow her brand photography side of the business. So instead of relying only on Instagram, we committed to two SEO-focused blog posts per month, optimized every image with alt text, and created 10 Pinterest pins per blog to drive long-term traffic.
The result?
Stronger SEO activity
Increased website visibility
Doubled brand session bookings
Hit her 2025 revenue goal
Consistency + strategy > more content.
Here’s What Our Process Looks Like
After a session, Zoe sends me a voice memo. (Okay, multiple voice memos in Slack 🤣)
She talks through the day — the client, the location, the feeling, the details. It’s very her. Very natural. I take that voice memo and turn it into a high-SEO blog post.
This includes:
Structure with proper headings
Optimize the SEO title + slug + meta description
Add targeted keywords (like brand photographer in Virginia, flower farm brand photoshoot, Great Marsh Estate Wedding etc.)
Write alt text for every image (that actually describes the image with keywords, not throwing a sentence together just to get the task done)
Set the tags + categories
Schedule it
Then for each blog, I create 10 Pinterest pins to keep driving traffic back to it. KEY POINT HERE! You need to keep “pointing” back to your blog to increase the reach. The more clicks/views the more your SEO is like “Oh, people like this, let me make it more visible.”
Because Pinterest + blogging together? That’s long-term visibility.
Why We Focused on Brand Photography First
Since she was expanding into brand photography, we intentionally prioritized blogging those sessions.
Why? Because blogging does something Instagram can’t: It positions you.
It educates.
It builds authority.
It gives Google something to index.
It lets potential clients binge your work.
And that shift mattered.
The Part That Makes Me So Proud
Since committing to consistent blogging:
Her SEO has become more active than ever
Her website traffic is steadily growing
Pinterest is driving consistent clicks
And she has doubled her brand session bookings
She also hit her 2025 revenue goal.
Not from doing more.
Not from burning out.
Not from posting 7 reels a week. (And everyone shouts NO WAY! Yes, way. 😉)
But from building a system that works quietly in the background.
What I Love Most About This
Zoe doesn’t have to sit down and “write blogs.”
She talks. I strategize. The content compounds.
And now when someone searches for brand photography in her area, she has the best chance of being found.
That’s the kind of growth I care about. Not flashy. Not hypey. Not trendy. Just intentional and sustainable.

FAQ
Does blogging really help photographers get more bookings?
Yes — when it’s strategic. Blogging helps photographers rank on Google for specific searches like “brand photographer in Virginia” or “flower farm brand photoshoot.” Unlike Instagram posts, blog content compounds over time and continues working months (and years) after it’s published.
How often should photographers blog for SEO growth?
Consistency matters more than volume. For Zoe, we committed to two SEO-optimized blog posts per month. That was sustainable, realistic, and powerful enough to increase her search visibility without overwhelming her.
What makes a blog post “SEO-optimized”?
An SEO blog post includes:
Strategic keyword placement
Proper heading structure (H1, H2, H3)
Optimized title + slug
Meta description
Image alt text
Relevant tags and categories
It’s not just writing — it’s structure.
Why pair blogging with Pinterest?
Pinterest is a visual search engine. When we create 10 optimized pins per blog post, we give that content multiple entry points back to Zoe’s website. This extends the life of every blog and increases long-term traffic beyond Google alone.
Is blogging better than Instagram for photographers?
They serve different purposes. Instagram builds connection. Blogging builds discoverability. If you want to expand into new services (like brand photography), blogging helps position you as an authority and makes you searchable in a way Instagram simply can’t.
