How I Started My Virtual Assistant Business (and Why I’m So Grateful You’re Here)

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you're a fellow dreamer, doer, and go-getter — and let me just say, I’m so glad you’re here. Whether we’ve worked together before or you’ve just stumbled across my corner of the internet, I want you to know: I’m cheering you on big time. 💛

I’m Liz — your soon-to-be business bestie and the Virtual Assistant you didn’t know you needed. I’m here to help your creative business thrive through systems, strategy, and seamless support. But before we get into all that, let me tell you how this whole thing started.

2022: A Year That Changed Everything

To be honest, 2022 threw just about everything it could at me. The year kicked off with unexpected health issues (shoutout to my incredible FNTP, Kelsie Anderson — she’s the real deal if you ever need support).

Then came a whirlwind:

  • We packed up and moved away from our hometown, temporally living in Alabama with my parents while we waited house hunted in Houston, TX

  • I was a bridesmaid in SIX weddings across four different states!! (also why we lived with my parents to save $$$)

  • And the coaching company my husband and I worked for… well, the owner disappeared with the money and shut everything down 🙃 (Yes, really. Wild.)

  • Therefore we lost our home in Houston (thanks to a vanishing boss)

But just when it felt like we were running on empty, God surprised us with the sweetest blessing: we found out we were expecting our first baby (exactly a month after we lost our jobs/house) — a miracle we’d been praying for. Cue all the tears. 🥹

*BUT ALSO INSERT MAJOR PANIC….uhmmm, God…we are home jobless, homeless and pregnant????!!

Our faith, the strength of our relationship and ability to even feel confident was extremely challenged. Talk about multiple gut punches and wanting to give up.

Starting From Scratch (And Finding My Sweet Spot)

After that rollercoaster of a year, we pressed pause and spent time with family. I took a step back and asked myself: What do I really want to build?

That’s when it hit me: I’d spent years running the backend of other people’s businesses — coaching programs, launches, community management, content creation, systems setup and now it was time to do it for myself. But more importantly, to do it for you.

So I launched my Virtual Assistant business with one big goal: to support creative women in business who are ready to stop feeling overwhelmed and start feeling organized, confident, and in control.

Was I scared? Totally.
Did I wonder if anyone would hire me? Absolutely.
But I kept going and God showed up big.

Fast Forward: My First 5 Months

In my first five months as a Virtual Assistant, I…

  • Surpassed my monthly income goal

  • Served over 8 incredible clients

  • Helped launch online courses

  • Streamlined blogging + social media strategy

  • Automated workflows

  • Organized digital chaos

  • And found my purpose in helping other women grow businesses they love

I’m truly so grateful for the women who took a chance on me and allowed me to support their vision. You’ve given me meaningful work and the confidence to keep showing up. 💛
